Skin tag removal in Incheon, and how milia and seborrheic keratosis differ
A skin tag is a hanging flap of skin, milia are white grains of trapped keratin, and seborrheic keratosis is a brown patch where the top layer of skin has thickened. All three are harmless, but their roots differ in shape and depth, so burning them all the same way can leave remnants or marks. We tell them apart first, then remove each according to root thickness, grain depth or lesion thickness.

Why do they appear?
- Skin tags: friction and constitution. The neck is rubbed all day by hair, collars, necklaces and bag straps. Add sweat and heat and skin tags form easily. They often increase with age, weight gain or pregnancy, and many people have a family tendency.
- Milia: trapped keratin. When skin can't shed old keratin and traps it in a tiny pocket, a milium forms. Rich eye creams, healing after burns or strong lasers and peels, sun damage and long-term steroid cream can all play a part. Milia on newborns usually disappear within weeks.
- Seborrheic keratosis: accumulated sun. Years of UV exposure and constitution make surface cells pile up. The backs of the hands are often missed with sunscreen, so we see more of them there now.
Removal at our clinic
Up to 15
Any mix of skin tags, milia and seborrheic keratoses, up to 15 in total. 99,000 KRW.
One area, unlimited
Face, backs of both hands, neck or pelvis: 200,000 KRW. Chest, belly, upper back or lower back: 300,000 KRW.
Lesion by lesion
Skin tags by root thickness, milia by grain depth, seborrheic keratosis by thickness, to keep marks to a minimum.
With flat warts
The face and neck often have flat warts mixed in. They are diagnosed and planned together. See flat warts.
Spots that are unusually dark or multi-coloured, irregular with blurred edges, or that have recently grown fast, bled or itched may not be seborrheic keratosis or skin tags. These need a diagnosis with a biopsy at a dermatology clinic before any removal, and we will recommend that at your consultation.
What to expect
| Day of treatment | Lesions are identified, numbing cream is applied, and they are removed. We finish with soothing care and a healing ointment. |
|---|---|
| 1 to 2 weeks | Redness and small scabs, which fall off naturally. The backs of the hands can take a little longer. |
| After scabs fall off | Light redness or colour can remain for a while and fades gradually. Thick seborrheic keratoses are sometimes treated once more. |
Aftercare and prevention
- Don't pull off scabs. Apply the healing ointment and let them fall off.
- Reduce friction on the neck. Avoid necklaces and stiff collars while healing.
- Keep the backs of your hands out of water for long periods; wear gloves for dishes and cleaning.
- Skip saunas, swimming, hard exercise and alcohol for about a week.
- Put sunscreen on the backs of your hands too.
- Switch heavy eye creams to lighter ones to reduce new milia.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Q.How much does skin tag removal cost?
As of October 2026, removing up to 15 skin tags, milia and seborrheic keratoses in total is 99,000 KRW. One area unlimited is 200,000 KRW for the face, backs of both hands, neck or pelvis, and 300,000 KRW for the chest, belly, upper back or lower back.
Q.Can skin tags, milia and seborrheic keratosis be removed at the same time?
Yes, on the same day. The up-to-15 option counts the total regardless of type, and the unlimited option covers all three within the chosen area.
Q.Can I tie off or cut a skin tag myself?
We don't recommend it. The root can remain, it can bleed or get infected, and something that looks like a skin tag may be a different lesion, so it is safer to have it checked.
Q.Can I squeeze milia at home?
Milia are hard, closed grains, so they rarely come out when squeezed. Pressing repeatedly can leave wounds and pigmentation on thin eye skin. Opening the surface very slightly and lifting out the grain is safer.
Q.Do they come back after removal?
Skin tags rarely grow back in the same spot. Thick seborrheic keratoses may need more than one session and can return. New ones can appear elsewhere with continued friction and sun exposure, so removing them while small is simpler.
Q.How long do scabs last after removal?
Usually redness and small scabs for one to two weeks, then they fall off naturally. Thin skin such as the backs of the hands can take a little longer.
